There is also something known as a "div layout", which hides all the default myspace stuff and replaces it with your own - but this, in particular, is quite hard to work with, as myspace have a LOT of restrictions on what you can and can't do with HTML or CSS to design your page.
Generally, you're good if you find something that generates the code, or a premade layout. Most websites that provide these will also give you instructions on how to add them to your profile, so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
